How to Calibrate Maytag Commercial Washer MVWP586GW0

This is how you calibrate a Maytag commercial washer. MVWP586GW0.
Make sure the wash basket is empty. Rotate dial to 12:00 (mixed). Wait 4-6 seconds then turn dial left, right, right, left, right. This should be done within 6 seconds. You should see all the lights come on except "lock". Then toggle dial (L/R, L/R, L/R...) until only the "rinse" light comes on. Press the start button and let it finish the cycle. Calibration is done.
Calibration should be done when repairs are done, if you move the washer, if you change electrical outlet, and when you first intstall the washer. It does NOT tell you this in the owners manual.

I had the 575 model and last year started to have issues with the actuator. Adter 6 repairs, whirlpool replaced the unit with the 586. I use Deep Fill. The High Water setting only fills about half full, ans Low is about 2-3". I've also had several larger loads get unbalanced dureing the spin (never happened on the older 575). One video said they had to get their board replaced with an updated software.

I've heard too many issues with this model, mainly the water fill level and boards being replaced to remedy this?? While is may be marketed as 'commercial' it is obvious even the simple parts lack durability.

What does recalibration do? Recalibrate the water fill sensor?
I don't know the technical aspect of it, but it should be done when first installed, moved, changed power supply, or replaced a part. I have no idea if it does anything to the water fill sensor. Sorry.

It's been 4 months. How has everything been since then? Do you think the ones today have the upgraded boards? I was thinking of buying this model.
All the issues I have posted have disappeared. But due to it being suspended, it has a tough time with real heavy loads or waterproof items and will go off balance when it starts to spin. I just recalibrate it (I have how to calibrate it on UA-cam) and doesn't do it again. But it is definitely the best you can get in any of the Whirlpool line if you want seperate water controls. I guess look at the manufacture date or contact Maytag to find out if they have updated the boards.

My washer has been doing the same thing. It's less then a year old. Really annoying. I have the same washer btw.
They now know that a new board with the updated software should fix the issue. If a repair tech in my small rural town got a text about this, hopefully your tech will get it done for you. If you have the exact model, you have 5 years of parts and labour.

I'm having this exact issue right now. Maytag said it would be a month or more before they *might* have the part to fix it.
Let the technician know that there is a software update. Hope you get a good repair person. My first one caused more problems , but the second one was outstanding. Best of luck!
